Tilapia from Ecuador: an export product available all year long

Ecuador is a fish-farming country by tradition, with highly technicized infrastructure that has enabled it to successfully develop tilapia breeding in recent years

Tilapia meat has significant and beneficial characteristics: it has a low calorie content, it is rich in proteins (especially OMEGA3), and has no cholesterol.
Its white meat has a very delicate taste, a soft texture and no intramuscular bones.

The main market for Ecuador is the United States, although currently the demand for Ecuadorian tilapia has extended to several European countries. Ecuador produces tilapia all year long, and exports it in several forms: fillets, whole, breaded, fresh or frozen.
